Devlin Cathey - Head Chef

Smoke Cuisine is headed by Chef Devlin Cathey. Devlin has over ten years experience in the hospitality and catering industry both locally and abroad having worked and travelled in the United Kingdom, Southern Africa and western Europe

Devlin started his career in a well-known Portuguese restaurant, frequented by local celebrities, going on to open his own gastro pub and catering company in the U.K.

Originally from Kwazulu-Natal, Devlin’s cooking style is influenced by the Indian spices of Durban, along with Portuguese cooking methods from Mozambique. Fused with his classical French training he brings a unique style of bold flavour and technical capability to the table which can be seen in dishes such as his signature Mozambican black tiger prawns, served in a shot glass with house made peri-peri and garnished with micro coriander.
